Audio: “Aad Such” by Joseph Michael Levry - Sound of the Earth
Listen to the mantra, repeat if you remember some words.
Mantra: Aad Such Jugaad Such Hai Bhai Such Naanak Hosee Bay Sach
Translation: True in the beginning, true throughout the ages, true even now, Nanak, truth shall ever be.
“Now suppose something you want to move and it’s not moving. There is a block and it’s not movable…..then chant this mantra. It’s a lever. It is the biggest lever available to you as a mantra.”
Yogi Bhajan
Author of mantra: Baba Siri Chand, son of Guru Nanak, gave this mantra to Guru Arjun Dev Ji
Translation: True in the beginning, true throughout the ages, true even now, Nanak, truth shall ever be.
Timing: The duration of time held in meditation is 3; 11; 22; 31 or 62 minutes; you choose what works for you the best.
In Kundalini yoga there is a significant amount of importance placed upon timings/duration of the meditation. There is a reason behind it and it goes back to sacred numerology, and the cosmic vibration of numbers. The recommended time for meditation varies between 3, 11, 31, and 62 min.
Choose whatever may work for you the best, but remember to start modestly, increasing slowly to the longer times given for meditation.
My personal advice: if one day you cannot determine the length of time or don’t feel like going by any particular time, do it any way for as long as it feels right.
Now a little more details about the changes in your body that will occur depending on the duration of meditation:
3 minutes
Your circulation and blood stability is affected. It takes three minutes for one blood cell to leave the heart, travel through the body and come back to the heart again. Therefore, within three minutes the whole body will receive the information contained within the meditation.
11 minutes
The pituitary and nerves begin to change. As it’s now known, the glandular system is responsible for a state of well- being, how we feel inside. When you hold the meditation for 11 minutes, you moved to working on glands; tuning them to release correct levels of hormones where some of them allow you to perceive sense of happiness and completeness.
22 minutes
When you meditate for 22 minutes, your three minds - Negative, Positive and Neutral- balance and begin to work together.
31 minutes
After 31 minutes your entire mind is affected. It is known it takes 31 minutes to stimulate the three functions of nervous system: a sensory, an interpretative and a motor functions. Strong nerve system is a pillar for your ability to respond rather than react.
62 minutes
After 62 minutes, your subconscious mind is positively transformed and integrated with your conscious mind.
You can also benefit by committing to a specific meditation that you decide to practise, for the following times:
- 40 days will change an old habit into more positive one
- 90 days confirms the new habit in you
- 120 days allows the new habit to become who you are
- 1000 days ensures that you have mastered the habit
